TECHIES' HAUNT

The Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore is the favourite spot of the techies these days. They land up at the dressing room and discuss cricket-related information tools with the players, who are keen to harness technology in their quest for excellence. Senior programmers from Microsoft, Hewlett Packard and other software firms are regulars during the various cricket camps and matches. During the Ranji Trophy match recently, a few programmers were seen holding discussions with Virender Sehwag. The Indian opener listened to the software spiel intently and watched the laptop throw up visuals. This was the lead-up to the first official personal website issued by an Indian cricketer. The website, www.msn.co.in/sehwag, is not just about the player and his heroics, but also a window through which Sehwag hopes to stay in touch with junior cricketers and eager fans.
